The Underground Wonder Carved in Salt

The Wieliczka Salt Mine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, operated continuously for over 700 years before ending commercial mining in 1996. Today, it’s one of the world’s oldest and most remarkable tourist mines, with underground chapels, sculptures, and saline lakes carved entirely out of salt.
