Poland’s Precision in Mapping: Centuries of
Geodetic Excellence
Poland possesses some of the most accurate geodetic and cartographic data in Europe, thanks to a centuries-old tradition dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries. During that time, the first systematic maps and geodetic publications were created. Today, Poland’s state orthophotomaps offer very high resolution—about 3 x 3 cm per pixel—enabling precise spatial planning and land management.
