Ozimek Suspension Bridge: Poland’s Historic
Engineering Marvel
The suspension bridge in Ozimek, built in 1827, is the oldest preserved suspension bridge in Poland and one of the oldest in Europe. Made of cast iron, it was originally used for transporting industrial materials across the Mała Panew river. The bridge is approximately 31 meters long and features distinctive cast iron suspension chains. Today, it is open to pedestrians as a technical monument and popular tourist attraction.
